Yon Soo Park
Concentration Adviser for Eliot House
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University with a focus on international relations. In my dissertation, I examine the ways in which various issues such as trade and migration are framed as security issues. What drives these securitizing acts and what are their effects? I have a keen interest in political psychology and am looking at the effect of democratic selection on leader behavior in a separate project. Methodologically, I have experience conducting surveys and online experiments. In the past, I have done empirical work on what drives individual and state level support for animal rights. I have TFed for GOV1790 (American Foreign Policy) and GOV40 (International Conflict and Cooperation). I would be happy to advise theses in IR (International Relations), public opinion, human rights, political psychology, and animal rights.
