Leslie studies interest groups and the politics of education in the U.S., with a focus on state-level politics. She teaches two courses in the fall: Philanthropy, Non-profits, and the Politics of Education in the U.S., which is a Gov 94, and Democracy and Education in America, which is a Social Studies junior tutorial. In the spring she in the course director for Gov 97. She received her Ph.D. from the Harvard Government Department in 2017. Her B.A. is from Stanford, where she majored in international relations and Latin American Studies. Following college, she did Teach For America, where she taught middle school social studies and English Language Arts. For fun, she likes to go running, reading for pleasure, and spending time with her two cats and dog.
