I study the internal structure of state- and county-level political party organizations in the United States, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. In my dissertation project, I examine the constellation of party-adjacent groups that influence candidate nominations processes by tracking campaign contributions and endorsements. I am also working on a project examining the subnational roots of national Republican party transformations since the 1990s. I would be happy to advise senior theses focusing on social movements, interest groups, political parties, or the influence of these organizations over electoral and public policy outcomes in the United States.
