Katrina Forrester

John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences

Katrina Forrester is John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard University. Her research focuses on the history of twentieth-century social and political thought and its implications for political theory. 

Forrester's first book, In the Shadow of Justice: Postwar Liberalism and the Remaking of Political Philosophy (Princeton University Press, 2019) is a history of how political philosophy was transformed by postwar liberalism, John Rawls's A Theory of Justice, and the rise of liberal egalitarianism. She is currently working on a new book project on Feminism and the Future of Work, and a related set of essays on feminism and the state.
