Daniel Smith

Professor Daniel M. Smith studies comparative politics, with a focus on political parties, elections, and other aspects of democratic representation and behavior in Japan and Western Europe. In the past, he has advised students whose senior theses explored questions of electoral system reforms; voter turnout; candidate selection and the political representation of women, immigrants, and other political minorities; and Japanese foreign policy and/or domestic politics.
