Hi, I’m Amy Lakeman, a fifth-year PhD student in American Politics. I study religion in American political behavior, focusing on the impact of politics on religious beliefs during historical and contemporary moments of religious polarization. I would be glad to advise on an array of topics related to religion and politics, political behavior, and American group politics and identities more broadly. Furthermore, I have professional experience in state and local politics and would be happy to advise theses on local government or urban politics. My research draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods, and accordingly I welcome the chance to advise senior theses using either methodological approach. As an advisor, I seek to support you with regular communication and feedback. I have experience advising senior theses and teaching Gov 99 sections, so I am familiar with the intellectual and emotional demands of the thesis process. I look forward to working with you!
